In a positive development for the marina, the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) has renewed its agreement with Scarborough Marina for another 3 years. The agreement reaffirms the marina as the official Port of Entry for small vessels entering Australia through the Port of Brisbane. Mr Tony Redrup, Regional Manager of AQIS makes the following comment:
"Cooperation with the community is an essential facet of insuring the protection of our environment from exotic pests and disease. The arrangement with Scarborough Marina has served AQIS and Australia well for over 3 years. We expect that today's renewal will see that partnership reinvigorated with significant benefits for AQIS, the Peninsula community and for quarantine integrity."
